At Tick in de Nick, we go beyond the squash court to build a community, check out our many social events below:
Monthly Drinks
Every month, we gather for a special and highly anticipated event: the Monthly drinks! Thanks to our Activity Committee, we get to explore Rotterdam’s bar scene, sing karaoke together, and dance the night away. If you feel more like staying in, then our cozy potlucks or legendary house parties are definitely your thing. Chatting over some good food and winning the beer pong tournament together make it easy to connect with your fellow members, forming friendships and creating memories that last a lifetime.
Trip
Tickers on vacation: Every spring, we set aside our rackets and leave the courts behind for a fun weekend getaway. These trips are filled with exciting activities and lots of bonding time.
In 2023, we visited Antwerp, where we quickly adopted “Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go to Antwerp” as our weekend motto after seeing it on a souvenir shirt. Ordering rounds of Limoncello at the Tapas restaurant, enhancing our bowling skills with Tequila shots, and racing through the city on our rental “Donkeys” were just some of the most memorable highlights. It is safe to say that our group became even closer after this trip.
Which is why we are excited to announce that we will be heading to Lille, France, in May 2024! So pack your bags and don’t miss out!

Activities
At TIDN, we’re not just about rallies and serves; we’ve got a whole lineup of amazing year-round social events to keep the fun rolling and build a community together. Starting with our new-member activities in September, where you’ll get the chance to meet both old and new members over dinner, a city scavenger hunt, or a pub quiz. Every December, the activity committee makes sure Sinterklaas joins us at the courts to deliver gifts and play a round of the secret Santa dice game with us. Want to try out other sports with your fellow members? Then throw on your ice skates or bowling shoes, or join us at the active member day for a game of Jeu de Boules. It’s a fun way to show off your hidden talents and challenge your friends outside the courts. Finally, as we wave goodbye to the year, we’re gathering at Kralingse Plaas for our traditional summer BBQ.
